Wayne State University says one of its researchers has received a $1.7 million federal grant to study a liver disease associated with obesity and diabetes.

The university says the grant to medical school assistant professor Kezhong Zhang comes from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. That’s part of the National Institutes of Health.
